Ashley and Chad 8.15.09

Ashley and Chad celebrated their nuptials at the First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Walton Beach. This church is amazing to for photographs. It has wonderful high ceilings and the light flows through it so wonderfully! And to make their wedding  even more intimate and special, Chad’s uncle performed the ceremony. It was a well done beautiful service.

With a wedding party about the size of a pro-football team in number, it offered the opportunity for some really fun zany images. Let’s just say we had a parade, jumped and even licked a foot. Okay, it wasn’t my idea to do that, but sometimes those groomsmen can be awfully impetus and unpredictable! But it was all fun!

After the wedding, the couple had their reception at the Ramada Empire Room on Okaloosa Island. A live band played the Blues Brothers, Elvis and other covers much to the joy of the audience and a photo booth complete with costumes was available to the guests. The topper on the reception was the Crimson Tide table, I’m sure Bear Bryant was looking over this with great approval. The groom’s cake was all roll tide and Ashley and Chad had even had M&M’s made with various sayings like UA, roll tide, 8.15.09 and a cute portrait of themselves.

Enjoy their images!LJ0T0608LJ0T0663 copyLJ0T1239details2

Chad and Ashley, I truly loved your wedding. I hope and pray you have a life of enjoyment and prosperity; whichever comes first.

Love both you.

God Bless.

The pictures are fabulous.

Kamryn and Kaleb

I have been photographing Kamryn….well, since she was a bump in her mother’s tummy. It has been fun watching her grow and turn into a beautiful young girl!

When Kim said they were expecting again, I hoped they would get their boy, and they did! Little (or in this case not so little) Kaleb came into this world this summer to give Ryan a chance to get away from all of the women in his house once in a while!

Kami and Kaleb came over to the Red Dog Studio to do his baby photos. Aren’t they cute kids!!

Enjoy 🙂

Granni says: These are great pictures and yes Kamryn models like a 30 year old. Kaleb is so cute in the hat (since he has no hair) ! Thank you Mari

Absolutely stunning! Besides our daughter modeling like a 30 yr old pro (ha!) we are delighted! Can’t wait to do our next session and show these off to the rest of our family! Thank you Mari!

Dixi and Tracy Engagements

Dixi and Tracy just crack me up. They are the couple that just has fun and enjoys life.

They came out to a wonderful park in Panama City near the historic downtown area with their adorable boys in tow. We hit the park, the beach, the marina and even saw some crazy kind of renegade rock crab on land!

I found some really cool things to photograph in the area and we had a wonderful time on a Sunday morning.

Enjoy!LJ0T1969 copyIMG_4107LJ0T1778LJ0T1769LJ0T1984 copyLJ0T1942IMG_4056IMG_4017 copyIMG_3981Lomo (Medium Vignette)

We love Mari for that very reason, we are not the sit and smile kind of couple. She was able to capture so much of our personalities.

Kim Cooper - August 19, 2009 - 1:44 pm

What a great couple! You can tell they are so in love… I love how your pictures capture that. No sit and smile stuff.

Cal, Miriam and Parks

LI0Y5286 copyI had to stop and think how long I have known Cal. Man it has to be 10 years. He was a fresh-faced cub reporter fresh out of college working the high school sports beat like there was no tomorrow when I started working at the Northwest Florida Daily News. Since my shift was the evening shift we spent many days working the same stories watching the high school glory days of hundreds of athletes.

There was the crisp north county fall air during a Baker Football game, the excitement of a local team during state tournaments and many other fond memories.

As time passed, we both left the paper and went on to our “post-journalism” lives. Just before he left town he had me do some beach portraits of he and this beautiful young lady with sparkling blue eyes and wonderful curly blond hair. Cal’s eyes (you may stop reading now to save our friendship Cal) lit up when he looked in her direction. She was a true Georgia peach, educated, well mannered, a wonderful personality and beautiful!! When I took Cal aside and asked him if she could be “the one” for him, he did the typical manish method of beating around the bush. No politicial could have been more proud of his avoidance of a direct answer. I knew right then Miriam was going to be a part of his life forever!

Time passed and word came, Cal was engaged…to his sweet stunning Georgia girl. They were married in the summer and in due time decided that it was time to start their own little family.

Miriam gave birth to a son, Parks, a cute little man with the attitude of his father (I told you not to read this Cal) at times!! But a sweetheart with his mother’s eyes.

It was my pleasure to do their first professional “family” portrait at the Red Dog.

I’m blushing! Thanks, Mari!

Ashley’s Bridals

Ashley’s Pronovias dress fit her like a glove. She looked like a sophisticated exotic princess for her bridals and her wedding. I know Chad did love the dress, but that’s for another blog later this week 😉

Anyway, she came to the Red Dog Studio to have her bridals done as she didn’t want to dirty her dress or get to warm. In the end she was able to surprise  her mother with a storyboard of beautiful black and white bridals which was displayed at the wedding later that week.

Enjoy this beautiful bride 🙂
