The P. Family was awesome! We had a good time, it was one of those evenings with the cobalt sky and random WWII military stunt planes flying above giving us our own private show. The big fluffy clouds floated by and the sun graced them with a wonderful tint from the sunset. It was a great evening. Well, except for the fact that during the shoot the doctors office called me to tell me my husband was being admitted to the hospital. It was no surprise, but still threw me for a loop a bit. Thank you to the P. Family for being understanding when suddenly I became the biggest airhead on the planet in the middle of the shoot…LOL  I am happy to say that the hubster is now home and doing well. I appreciate everyone who has posted expressing their thoughts and prayers. And I am also happy to show you the P. family 2010, enjoy!

I love the little ghost crab. What a cute little fella!

The H. Family was a ton of fun! They came to me in Grayton Beach on Scenic Hwy. 30A to do their family beach portraits. All of the kids were so well behaved and although it looked as though the sky could open up and storm at any minute, we didn’t experience a drop of rain to temper our beach fun! With the scare of oil and start of school, the beaches were deserted. It looked more vacant than the dead of winter, but it was fine for us. We used all of the beach as a canvas for their beach portraits! I hope you enjoy them!

Love this one!

I have photographed the E. Family enough years in a row that I’m pretty sure I have earned a place in the family portrait!! And I look forward to their family portraits every year! So what type of family are they you ask? They are spontaneous, loving and a ton of stinkin’ fun! Now as a word to the wise, if you are a photographer who doesn’t like to laugh and have fun while photographing your clients, this family is NOT for you. However, if you are like me and love to enjoy the time you spend with your clients while laughing, having a good time and making great images…then this is a perfect group! But so sorry folks…I’m not giving up my adopted place in this family! They’re much to fun! Next year hopefully we’ll have the whole family in Florida at the same time. With active duty members in the family, we haven’t ever been able to get everyone at once…YET!

So cute!

Little A. is just hangin' with Grammy and Grandpa

All American cutie pie!

As I write this I am a little bit optimistic! I have seen no sign of oil (tar balls or otherwise) along our beaches for about two weeks. You don’t know how happy this makes me! YAY! But now it’s time to get up off of the beach and begin blogging. I just can’t say enough about these families, they were all so wonderful and awesome! And a few of them are celebrating over five years in a row coming to me for their family pictures! I am so honored to be able to say that. Anyway, enough of the chit chat, let’s take a look at some great families on our oil free beaches!!

I met Devon this summer through mutual friends. She is from the Atlanta area and came down to spend the summer with her grandmother in Florida. She had seen some work I had done for our friends and wanted me to do her senior portraits. Now Devon is full of spunk, a fashionista and on top of that does poetry slams! Her poems are actually very, very good!  We got together and talked about some things we wanted to accomplish and then we went and had a great time!! She even introduced me to the rapper Waka Flocka Flame’s music. Well, so maybe I’m not ready to be a huge fan of his, but it wasn’t bad. It was a pleasure getting to know her and I hope you enjoy her images.

I love her eyes in this picture!

We actually incorporated a poem Devon wrote about the girl she sees when she looks into the mirror.

Big waves and beautiful skies was the backdrop for the “W” family beach portrait in Destin recently. Little “W” had a blast exploring the beach and of course….running! Well, at that age, it’s what they do!! But they look so cute when they run off into the sunset! Anyway, they were a beautiful family and we had a blast photographing them. Now you can enjoy their images.

Happy Birthday Denise!! You see today is a very special client’s birthday, and for her birthday week she chose to have her family portraits made by little old me! Of course she has been a regular for about a half-decade and it has been so much fun watching her children grow up and turn into great people! This year we added a new person to the family portrait…hmmm…do I smell a wedding in the next five years or so?? LOL I’m just kidding, no pressure from me. Anyway, the beaches were nice, the sunset beautiful and of course…we are still oil free. Enjoy Denise’s family and if you see her today, wish her a very happy birthday!

Love the touch of orange. Isn't it a great color on Denise?

Little Logan came to the Red Dog Studio to do a pre-second birthday photo session so that he could make images for his birthday invitations. Oh my gosh, that boy has serious personality! He’s 100% boy! And 100% ham! Once he got warmed up he was all over the place creating fun images. He had the most fun in the bathtub where he could slide down the edge and play hide and seek with me. It was a riot! We ended up the session with some watermelon by the bay. Let me tell you, he needed no coaxing to put on his bathing suit, sit in the water and eat some juicy watermelon!! He was a wonderful model, enjoy his images!

This image just makes me want some watermelon!

The patio of the studio.

Rub-a-dub-dub tons of fun in the tub!

I love the beaches along 30A in Walton County. They are in tune with high society, yet so old Florida. It’s really beautiful to go out and enjoy them. I had a wonderful chance to do just that last week with the R. Family! The sea oats (please don’t touch them or step on them) are beginning to bloom and so pretty as a backdrop for an image and the sand and water are the most beautiful I have seen them in years! We had a wonderful time so enjoy their little family moments caught on film.

Wooo Hooo! I am now two for two in the last week of newborns smiling for me! I am doing the I feels so special dance right now as I blog! Okay, so perhaps the reasoning is that they are just really special babies with such loving personalities that they are advanced for their ages in the smiling department. But I still say it’s the magic of the Red Dog Studio! LOL Little Baby Alya had some amazing eyes and just was checking out all of her surroundings. She was wonderfully behaved and her parents were so adorable. They took turns with her and in a family shot as mom was kissing little Alya’s toes, dad just simply turned and kissed mom on the cheek so gentle and lovingly it was awesome! Now that’s what love is about. I hope you enjoy looking at Alya’s images as much as I enjoyed photographing them!

Baby smiles rock!

Love this!

I just adore the cute little expressions of babies!
