I love the beaches along 30A in Walton County. They are in tune with high society, yet so old Florida. It’s really beautiful to go out and enjoy them. I had a wonderful chance to do just that last week with the R. Family! The sea oats (please don’t touch them or step on them) are beginning to bloom and so pretty as a backdrop for an image and the sand and water are the most beautiful I have seen them in years! We had a wonderful time so enjoy their little family moments caught on film.

30A Beach Portrait Oil Free!! ~The R. Family~
June 29, 2010Mom, Son and a Cool Dog ~Destin Beach Portrait~
June 29, 2010If sunrise didn’t come so stinkin early, I’m pretty sure I would be up to enjoy one every day. However, since I am a night owl and actually come from a long line of night owls, the beautiful soft breezes, pink light and gentle glow of the dawn usually elude me. So, when Trisha needed a portrait last week and the only time I had available was sunrise. I found myself looking forward to the fresh smooth water of morning with schools of fish jumping and the light timid and shy until the sun pushed over the horizon. And I was not disappointed, the water was crystal clear with no sign of those evil tar balls, the fish were swimming and Trisha and her son were so much fun!! ……But the dog stole the show. Enjoy!
Rosemary Beach is an awesome place for beach portraits and just portraits in general! I have shot the D. family before, but this year they had a new addition! Oh she was so cute I could have just ate her up! They also brought their mother, brother and his family. The sun was so pretty with blue skies and green water. Earlier in the day there had been reports of small tar balls on the beach, but they had been cleaned up leaving nothing but our pristine white sand behind. Please enjoy their family moments!
The weather was looking kind of crazy for the L. family’s beach portrait last week. Clouds moved through the area and a rainbow became obliterated by raindrops. We were just about to give up when the rain stopped. Out we ran to the beach. All of the kids did great and we had a blast. The crazy end of the evening was a waterspout about seven miles offshore. Being from the midwest, the L. family was happy to know the winds were blowing it out to sea!! Enjoy some pretty beach portrait images!
Baby Alya ~ Precious Newborn Pictures ~
June 25, 2010Wooo Hooo! I am now two for two in the last week of newborns smiling for me! I am doing the I feels so special dance right now as I blog! Okay, so perhaps the reasoning is that they are just really special babies with such loving personalities that they are advanced for their ages in the smiling department. But I still say it’s the magic of the Red Dog Studio! LOL Little Baby Alya had some amazing eyes and just was checking out all of her surroundings. She was wonderfully behaved and her parents were so adorable. They took turns with her and in a family shot as mom was kissing little Alya’s toes, dad just simply turned and kissed mom on the cheek so gentle and lovingly it was awesome! Now that’s what love is about. I hope you enjoy looking at Alya’s images as much as I enjoyed photographing them!
Destin Beach Portrait ~ M. Family ~ Still Oil Free
June 25, 2010We have been fairly fortunate here in Destin. Yes, we have had some tar balls here and there, but after a quick clean up our beaches are still the sugar sand we have loved for decades! Let’s hope and pray it stays like this!
The M. family came to visit me this week. We had a blast and even got our own special P6 (old military plane) fly over as we were on the beach! It was awesome!

Choctaw High School Senior Model ~Alec~
June 23, 2010
Alec is our first guy model from Choctaw this year. It’s a daunting task to set the bar for the other guy’s senior portraits, but I think we did it! With his fun sense of humor and easygoing spirit we had fun capturing just who he is at this point in his life. And let me tell you…they aren’t your mom’s senior portraits! But just in case, we threw a couple in there that will feel more like her style too! Alec is a pretty diverse guy, he’s in ROTC and is on the track and cross country teams as well as a person who enjoy’s our beaches in the area. We have tried to mix all of Alec and come out with some great images! Enjoy! And remember class of 2011, for a discount on your senior portraits see Alec or any of my senior models for a very special discount card. Supplies are limited and it is first come first serve on the cards!

Baby Bella ~Newborn Portraits~
June 19, 2010
I don’t know who was more excited for this session, me or Bella’s mom. Okay, maybe it was a total toss up, but I was so excited! I photographed Bella when she was just a bump. It was so wonderful to watch her mom and dad’s faces glow with excitement as they talked about her upcoming arrival! Well, late last week she made her debut at the Red Dog Studio. She was awake and her eyes full of curiosity as I made her first professional portraits. I am totally excited that she even gave me a smile! Okay, so cynics will say it was only gas and newborns can’t smile, but she did! And she rolled over onto her side. Oh boy, this little one is destined for big things! As we wait for her to grow up and become president or something really cool like that, we can sit back and enjoy the love and joy from her newborn portrait session!
It was great to see the F. family again. I love seeing how big the children have grown and how much they have changed, whether it’s a year or three years! Needless to say, the kids grew and are becoming super big kids instead of great little ones! It was fun to see the changes. And with photographs the changes are like slicing a piece of that history and keeping as an heirloom forever. Yah, that’s pretty much why I love my job! And I promised dad that I would not blog their whole family doing the Wizard of Oz walk and I didn’t. But there’s always the year in review blog!! LOL Well, let’s not ramble on forever, it’s time to enjoy their images!
We had a great time with the L. family on the beach in Destin last week! The sky and water were just beautiful! We enjoyed some great family moments with Margaret and her children. They were very good looking kids and so well behaved. Margaret’s sister Joy came along and she had some fun grotto photos at the pool! Enjoy their images!
