Wooo Hooo! I am now two for two in the last week of newborns smiling for me! I am doing the I feels so special dance right now as I blog! Okay, so perhaps the reasoning is that they are just really special babies with such loving personalities that they are advanced for their ages in the smiling department. But I still say it’s the magic of the Red Dog Studio! LOL Little Baby Alya had some amazing eyes and just was checking out all of her surroundings. She was wonderfully behaved and her parents were so adorable. They took turns with her and in a family shot as mom was kissing little Alya’s toes, dad just simply turned and kissed mom on the cheek so gentle and lovingly it was awesome! Now that’s what love is about. I hope you enjoy looking at Alya’s images as much as I enjoyed photographing them!

June 25, 2010Baby Bella ~Newborn Portraits~
June 19, 2010
I don’t know who was more excited for this session, me or Bella’s mom. Okay, maybe it was a total toss up, but I was so excited! I photographed Bella when she was just a bump. It was so wonderful to watch her mom and dad’s faces glow with excitement as they talked about her upcoming arrival! Well, late last week she made her debut at the Red Dog Studio. She was awake and her eyes full of curiosity as I made her first professional portraits. I am totally excited that she even gave me a smile! Okay, so cynics will say it was only gas and newborns can’t smile, but she did! And she rolled over onto her side. Oh boy, this little one is destined for big things! As we wait for her to grow up and become president or something really cool like that, we can sit back and enjoy the love and joy from her newborn portrait session!
A New Arrival~ Newborn Portraits of Baby Pierce
April 22, 2010You may remember Baby Pierce from our blog about a week ago. Oh, okay you really didn’t meet him. He was this really big hump in his mother’s belly! His mother was the very beautiful maternity portrait client Lexi who gave birth the very next day! Wow, I wish I had looked that good on my due date!! But really….I so didn’t and that’s a whole ‘nother story all together..LOL
Anyway Lexi came back to the Red Dog Studio and brought her whole cute little family. All I have to say is little girls watch out!! With two simply gorgeous parents, in about 14 years Pierce is going to be piercing some little girl hearts! So enjoy the love, wonderment and joy of Lexi, Ryan and their wonderful new baby Pierce.
The Red Dog Studio~ Fort Walton and Destin’s Full Service Photo Studio Celebrates one year!
February 15, 2010Wow, can it already be here? The Red Dog Studio has been open for a whole year! What began as a dream about five years ago came to fruition last winter as I built one of the areas only full-service photographic studios from the ground up. I wanted a studio that was large enough to utilized both as traditional light studio as well as a natural light studio. Voila, a plan was formed! It was a ton of hard work. The structure was built to the specifications I needed including six foot windows, a sky light and loft storage area. We put in the insulation and painted it ourselves. By the way, that’s how it became named the Red Dog Studio. Jack Rascal Terrorists love chasing anything that sprays. By the time I was done painting the outside, I had one large red dog! Poor Mr. Noodles! We added hardwood flooring and some outside scenes and the Red Dog was set to go! Our sessions combine the use of our awesome studio and outside scenes along with areas at a beachside park across the street. We do offer the best of all worlds! Since the Red Dog has opened it has been the place to go for high school senior photos, pregnancy portraits and children and newborns! We just love our clients! Enjoy some images of the studio! And if you need any portraits, please feel free to call us at 850-699-3403. We are open by appointment only!
Baby Seth~ Red Dog Studio
November 30, 2009What a great story Seth and his parents will have to tell in years to come!! You see, Seth is the first winner of our gallery wrap contest even though he never got a single vote on the blog. WHAT?? You say, how can this be? Well let me tell you how. Pam was the instigator of all of this. You see, Pam’s daughter Megan is good friends with Seth’s mother Theresa. Pam and her family are regulars (and I love it when they come they are so much fun!! ) and Theresa has always love their photos but was not able to get any done. So when Pam brought her daughter and granddaughter into the studio Theresa loved the images and had a newborn of her own. When I announced Blog-a-Pallooza Pam formulated a plan and went into action with a vengeance. She managed to hustle everyone into commenting on the blog in record time. The really awesome thing about her plan was it wasn’t to win the gallery wrap for herself, it was to see if she could trade it in on baby sessions for Theresa because she wanted her to have great baby photos. It really touched me that she felt so strongly about Theresa and her family and my photography that she would make such an effort. Needless to say, I was thrilled to have little Seth, Theresa and Levi at the Red Dog Studio for his first formal studio portraits. He was a champ and I’m looking forward to watching him grow!!

What an adorable little family!!

Baby bottoms are sooooo cute!
Now rumor has it that Theresa likes my work so much she stalks my blog…..well, I love it when folks do that and I’m very pleased to show her some of my work that will I’m sure give her great personal pleasure

Kamryn and Kaleb
August 19, 2009I have been photographing Kamryn….well, since she was a bump in her mother’s tummy. It has been fun watching her grow and turn into a beautiful young girl!
When Kim said they were expecting again, I hoped they would get their boy, and they did! Little (or in this case not so little) Kaleb came into this world this summer to give Ryan a chance to get away from all of the women in his house once in a while!
Kami and Kaleb came over to the Red Dog Studio to do his baby photos. Aren’t they cute kids!!
Enjoy

Cal, Miriam and Parks
August 18, 2009
I had to stop and think how long I have known Cal. Man it has to be 10 years. He was a fresh-faced cub reporter fresh out of college working the high school sports beat like there was no tomorrow when I started working at the Northwest Florida Daily News. Since my shift was the evening shift we spent many days working the same stories watching the high school glory days of hundreds of athletes.
There was the crisp north county fall air during a Baker Football game, the excitement of a local team during state tournaments and many other fond memories.
As time passed, we both left the paper and went on to our “post-journalism” lives. Just before he left town he had me do some beach portraits of he and this beautiful young lady with sparkling blue eyes and wonderful curly blond hair. Cal’s eyes (you may stop reading now to save our friendship Cal) lit up when he looked in her direction. She was a true Georgia peach, educated, well mannered, a wonderful personality and beautiful!! When I took Cal aside and asked him if she could be “the one” for him, he did the typical manish method of beating around the bush. No politicial could have been more proud of his avoidance of a direct answer. I knew right then Miriam was going to be a part of his life forever!
Time passed and word came, Cal was engaged…to his sweet stunning Georgia girl. They were married in the summer and in due time decided that it was time to start their own little family.
Miriam gave birth to a son, Parks, a cute little man with the attitude of his father (I told you not to read this Cal) at times!! But a sweetheart with his mother’s eyes.
It was my pleasure to do their first professional “family” portrait at the Red Dog.
Enjoy!

July 2, 2009I love my elephant ears!! We grow them in the front yard!
What a fun afternoon!! I had the opportunity and pleasure of photographing Macon residents (complete with the youngest resident in Macon) Miriam, Cal and Parks.
Little Parks was a trooper! He didn’t seem to mind the elephant ear leaf, enjoyed the surfboard and even snuggled with dad.
Enjoy!
