Love this one!

I have photographed the E. Family enough years in a row that I’m pretty sure I have earned a place in the family portrait!! And I look forward to their family portraits every year! So what type of family are they you ask? They are spontaneous, loving and a ton of stinkin’ fun! Now as a word to the wise, if you are a photographer who doesn’t like to laugh and have fun while photographing your clients, this family is NOT for you. However, if you are like me and love to enjoy the time you spend with your clients while laughing, having a good time and making great images…then this is a perfect group! But so sorry folks…I’m not giving up my adopted place in this family! They’re much to fun! Next year hopefully we’ll have the whole family in Florida at the same time. With active duty members in the family, we haven’t ever been able to get everyone at once…YET!

So cute!

Little A. is just hangin' with Grammy and Grandpa

All American cutie pie!

Little Logan came to the Red Dog Studio to do a pre-second birthday photo session so that he could make images for his birthday invitations. Oh my gosh, that boy has serious personality! He’s 100% boy! And 100% ham! Once he got warmed up he was all over the place creating fun images. He had the most fun in the bathtub where he could slide down the edge and play hide and seek with me. It was a riot! We ended up the session with some watermelon by the bay. Let me tell you, he needed no coaxing to put on his bathing suit, sit in the water and eat some juicy watermelon!! He was a wonderful model, enjoy his images!

This image just makes me want some watermelon!

Rub-a-dub-dub tons of fun in the tub!

Wooo Hooo! I am now two for two in the last week of newborns smiling for me! I am doing the I feels so special dance right now as I blog! Okay, so perhaps the reasoning is that they are just really special babies with such loving personalities that they are advanced for their ages in the smiling department. But I still say it’s the magic of the Red Dog Studio! LOL Little Baby Alya had some amazing eyes and just was checking out all of her surroundings. She was wonderfully behaved and her parents were so adorable. They took turns with her and in a family shot as mom was kissing little Alya’s toes, dad just simply turned and kissed mom on the cheek so gentle and lovingly it was awesome! Now that’s what love is about. I hope you enjoy looking at Alya’s images as much as I enjoyed photographing them!

Baby smiles rock!

Love this!

I just adore the cute little expressions of babies!

Oh my gosh, Seth is growing up! It is amazing what changes in just a few months! When you saw him last he was that really cute baby with the head full of black hair at three months. Now he is still that cutie pie, but he’s so grown up! He was all giggles as he sat and posed and even tried to crawl. Man it all happens so fast! Thank goodness Theresa has photographs to remind her of his different stages.

What a big boy with my dad's WWII navy hat!

He loved that bear!

Charmane and I worked at the Northwest Florida Daily News together and now both work in the wedding industry. Small world huh? Well, she has two beautiful daughters and one very handsome son with her husband Jerome. They came to the Red Dog last week to do some fun images of their daughters. I love them and had so much fun at their shoot. Photographing children at their age is awesome!

Aren't they cute?!

I love my jasmine arch!

Oh boy, I was so excited to see baby Carolyn and her parents again! You see, I photographed Liz and Rob’s wedding a few years ago here in Fort Walton Beach. Then last year when Carolyn was born they came back down from Atlanta to have her newborn photos made. Now, she just turned one and it was time to make the trip down to the beach again! She is such a happy baby and has just learned how to walk. It’s so much fun to watch them at that age as they stick out arms when they run to keep the balance. I laughed so hard, it was so adorable! She still has her super wonderful big blue eyes that just melt your heart as well. But now she has a pretty toothy smile to go with her smiling eyes! Yes, as an outside observer, the age of 1 is pretty ! However as a parent…I soooo don’t miss the diapers or child proofing the house!! LOL Any enjoy Carolyn’s images.

I first saw Lorelei when she was a sassy but shy two-year-old with a thick head of curly red hair peeking over the top of her family’s perfect white picket fence as I was driving by one day. She was a bundle of energy and always perfectly dressed. I found out later her grandmother is quite the seamstress and sews her outfits for her. They are quite amazing! Later that year I photographed Lorelei and her older brother Keegan and we had a ball! Imagine Michael J. Fox’s roll as Alex Keeton on Growing Pains in a much younger person and you have Keegan! They are both really neat kids!

Later on in the year that I photographed Lorelei, her parents upon checking if she may have growth issues found out the news that no parents would ever want to hear. She has a rare disease where her white blood cells are attacking her body. It is kind of like cancer, but without the tumor. She has been undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments, but the disease is so rare that not much research has been devoted to it’s cause or cure. So for now, her parents hope and pray and try to give her the moments in life every 5-year-old experiences. Keegan is still very much a character and a sweet and loveable kid.

The portraits were my gift to Lorelei for her 5th birthday. Enjoy.

Little Babies~ Feel the Love

February 21, 2010

I love photographing babies in the studio. Especially the cute giggly babies like Avery! She was just a gem with her little hair bow and big smile. She even allowed her big brother to sit with her and hang out for a few photos of the two of them.

She looks like a little doll!

I love the family of feet!

Happy baby!

Mommy's girl!

Baby booties too cute!

Wow, can it already be here? The Red Dog Studio has been open for a whole year! What began as a dream about five years ago came to fruition last winter as I built one of the areas only full-service photographic studios from the ground up. I wanted a studio that was large enough to utilized both as traditional light studio as well as a natural light studio. Voila, a plan was formed! It was a ton of hard work. The structure was built to the specifications I needed including six foot windows, a sky light and loft storage area. We put in the insulation and painted it ourselves. By the way, that’s how it became named the Red Dog Studio. Jack Rascal Terrorists love chasing anything that sprays. By the time I was done painting the outside, I had one large red dog! Poor Mr. Noodles!  We added hardwood flooring and some outside scenes and the Red Dog was set to go! Our sessions combine the use of our awesome studio and outside scenes along with areas at a beachside park across the street. We do offer the best of all worlds! Since the Red Dog has opened it has been the place to go for high school senior photos, pregnancy portraits and children and newborns! We just love our clients! Enjoy some images of the studio! And if you need any portraits, please feel free to call us at 850-699-3403. We are open by appointment only!

Kiss and Tell happening NOW!

Ahh, Valentine’s Day, candy hearts, little winks and super fun happy cards! Or at least that’s what it was like so many years ago when I was in elementary school. It was fun and sweet. We are bringing that all back with a twist! For a limited time we are offering no sitting fee and a complimentary set of 5×5 Valentine’s Day cards at Mari’s Paradise Images.  Cathy received an invitation to attend our event and brought her daughter Addie. What a doll! We had a great time and Addie had even taken the time to create me a really special handmade Valentine card. How stinkin’ thoughtful was that? I was so surprised and tickled! You can see it if you want, it’s hanging up in the studio! She really made my day! Anyway, enjoy Miss Addie’s Valentine Session!
