Destin Wedding Photography ~ Linda+Mike ~

There is no better reason for a New Year’s Eve party than the long awaited nuptials of high school sweethearts. Linda and Mike were just that couple! Combining a wonderful mix of classic wedding traditions with their own individual flair, they sealed the commitment of a love that began decades ago. With her precious niece Molly as her maid of honor (and if you remember she was a 2010 senior model) at her side, Linda was able to peer deep into the chocolate eyes of her beloved groom, Mike, and become his wife. I was touched that her three brothers shared walking her down the aisle, as her parents are deceased. That really was emotional for the over 100 guests attending the ceremony. The ceremony went off without a hitch minus a brief unity candle malfunction which was quickly remedied with a wave of giggles beginning at the alter and moving through the crowd. Linda and Mike then were lead down the aisle by the ring bearer proudly displaying a sign that Mike and Linda were married. It was so cute!

The reception was standing room only. I would guess that the attendance was over 300 for the New Year’s Eve party held at the Emerald Coast Conference Center. The tables were lit by led vases with ostrich plumes and plenty of 2012 festive decorations, hats and noise makers. The crowd danced to live music and Mike and his former band members got together to preform some songs for Linda as a wedding present. It was loveley.

The wedding reception ended with a balloon drop at midnight and kisses by all.

I hope you with share in the joy of Linda and Mike’s images as much as Mark and I love creating them. Congratulations Mike and Linda!!!

Fort Walton Beach Wedding ~ Hilary+Jon ~

Southern-WeddingsWhat do you get when you mix a very handsome couple, beautiful winter day, the floral wizardry of Myrtie Blue and planning genus of Shelby Peaden Events? Well Hilary and Jon’s wedding of course! I have always marveled at the creativity of Myrtie Blue, but oh my gosh, Brian went and blew me away! His florals were so simple and elegant and they stood out with such class. Down the wedding aisle he lined simple tall glass vases. Birch bark was wrapped around part of the vase and a floating candle created ambiance in the church. The alter was also filled with the vases. It was so pretty! He did amazing work at the reception as well and gave a fall feeling to the festivities.

The wedding took place at the home church of the couples parents. The pastor who married them actually married several of their relatives as well. I might add, they are still married, so he has a really good track record! Hilary’s father walked her down the aisle. A few years ago nobody would have thought it would have ever been possible since he was recovering from serious head trauma sustained from an accident. As people watched them walk, there were very few dry eyes. It was a beautiful moment indeed! The wedding went off without a hitch and the reception was fantastic! A highlight of the evening was the groom’s cake which was a series of Jon’s favorite things all made into cakes. There was an x-b0x, baseball and of course baseball. It was fun! The tender moment of the reception was when Jon picked his mother’s favorite song “Simple Kind of Man” to surprise her for the mother-son dance. Wow, that was powerful!

In all the day was simply perfect and my second shooter Mark and I enjoyed being able to document Jon and Hilary’s special day! NYE Blowout Bash ~ Linda+Mike ~

florida-wedding-photographyLinda and Mike are high school sweethearts. Well you may say, that’s sweet, but what is so unusual about that? Well, it’s not so unusual. Except for the fact that high school was well, more than a year or two ago for them.

They went on to have their own lives after high school and then the flame rekindled.  So they planned their New Year’s Eve wedding. It was spectacular! With guests in black and silver, the beautiful candles on the alter flickered like the stars on the warm winter evening as they became man and wife at Shalimar United Methodist Church surrounded by close friends and family.

The reception that followed was one for the books. A live band was enjoyed by over 200 people at the Emerald Coast Convention Center with wonderful table decorations and a full balloon drop at midnight! Please enjoy Mike and Linda’s sneak peek of their wedding festivities. My second shooter Mark Saltz and I had a wonderful time documenting your special day.
