Krissy and Jon are a wonderfully laid back couple. Thank goodness for that, since the winds on the beach during their wedding were clocked in at 30 miles per hour! I’m so happy their officiant was able to get everything in for the ceremony in nine minutes! Aside from a little breeze, Monika and I loved doing their Watercolor Fl wedding photography. The wedding was bitter sweet for me. Monika has been assisting me for quite a few years now. And Jon and Krissy’s wedding is the last we’ll do together for a while. She is moving to Hawaii with her new husband Brian and looking forward to a new set of life adventures there. I’m sure going to miss her! She’s not only my right hand woman during weddings, she’s also one of my best friends. I guess that just means I have to start marketing weddings in the other paradise! I would miss being a 30A wedding photographer though. But hey, I have heard Hawaii has many wonderful things to offer.
One of the fun things about Jon and Krissy’s wedding was being able to work with DJ Paul Kirker of GTS Entertainment. He always keeps the crowd lively and makes me laugh. Krissy and Jon along with their family and friends were a great group of folks. I loved that their wedding party consisted of three young boys who were dressed perfectly for a beach wedding! I don’t think the day would have worked out so well had Watercolor not been such a wonderful venue. We were able to do all of the family and wedding party images before the wedding up on the pristine main lawn away from the ferocious exfoliation of the blowing sand. And despite the inclimate winds, the sunset was amazing and we were able to go down to the beach to create some amazing sunset wedding photography. Please enjoy Krissy and Jon’s wedding images!

Senior Portrait Photography is one of my favorite things! Where else can you play while working? Oh, and don’t forget the 30 second dance breaks in between shooting scenes! Mary was a ton of fun. She is a member of the Choctaw High School class of 2013 and will be graduating in a couple of weeks. We here at Mari Darr~Welch: Modern Photojournalist wish her and all of the 2013 graduates all the best! It’s the beginning of the rest of your life. Live life, love much and always stay true to your values!
For the Class of 2014, it’s time to schedule your senior portraits! Call us at 850-699-3403.

Creating Destin Photography is such a wonderful thing! I love the ability to photograph my beach portraits so that a little bit of our beautiful area is documented in my families. The ability to photograph our Destin Beach Portraits and work with families even with toddlers is a wonderful thing! To be able to photograph your family memories in the images from your Destin Photographer makes me so very happy! If your memories are important to you, please call 850-699-3403.

I love photographing Destin Weddings in the spring! The air is warm but not hot, and the haze we see from waves in the summer is still a month away. Clean and crisp, the air hangs onto the rays of light making everything beautiful. Summer and Wiley decided to have their wedding on the Captain’s deck at the Emerald Grande. You could not have asked for a more beautiful scene as the cords from a song that talented musician Michael J. Thomas was playing on his sax. It’s days like this that I love being a Destin wedding photographer!
Monika and I enjoyed the company of two wonderful families, the great couple and their awesome friends all evening. I hope you enjoy the moments of Wiley and Summer’s wedding day here on my blog.
