Destin Family Beach Photography: Don’t you want this to be you this Summer?

mother

When we do our Destin Family Beach Photography, we maintain a relationship with our clients.Watching our client’s children grow up through the years and become their own people is really an honor to witness. The last time I saw Wendy and her children, the youngest was a mere 2 years old. He is now so much fun and has a spark of impishness that is a ton of fun!

Our Florida State Parks have so much to offer when it comes to our beach portraits. They maintain their beaches and often times there are many less people lingering during our golden hour at the parks. This allows us to make intimate and special images for our couples and families. I have discovered that once a child sees an image, it then becomes a memory. For instance, when I have my families play Ring Around the Rosie on the beach, it no longer is something their photographer has asked them to do. When the big wall print is hanging in their home for years, it becomes a fond family memory of what they did during their vacation in Destin, Fl.

I am always on the lookout for real actual moments. For instance when the young girl caught a sand flea, that was some pretty big stuff. You see they are actually kind of hard to catch without the proper equipment. So her acquisition of the crustacean was a pretty big deal.

Atlanta Wedding Photography Lake Lanier Islands

Atlanta Wedding Photography_0001

I certainly did not anticipate that Sarah and Jason’s wedding would be considered an Atlanta Wedding Photography wedding at Lake Lanier Islands when they booked. But when their Destin, Fl wedding venue experienced some legal problems, I offered them the ability to have my services without losing their retainer at their new venue in Atlanta.

Boy was I surprised at how beautiful Lake Lanier Islands Resort was! And let me tell you about their staff! I know this is a sneak peek and I should not mush and gush about how great everything was, but these folks were first rate! The Lake Lanier Weddings staff not only knew what they were doing, but made everything seamless. The wedding videographer was amazing to work with. Ryan travels to locations all over the southeast and he is by far the most professional I have ever worked with. He follows and has been mentored by Ray Roman who I love as a video artist. Their styles are much the same.

Lake Lanier Island’s wedding coordinator Chipo was a calm force during the wedding. Wedding planner Rebecca from Rebecca Nichole Weddings kept things right in line and right on time. She was SOOOO easy to work with!

I can’t wait to post a full post on this wedding. It was amazing!

Congratulations Sarah and Jason!

WaterVue Wedding

wedding photography

What I said? A  WaterVue wedding with a backyard ceremony? Well that should be interesting.  And then of course you have a bride that works out five days a week and is just as beautiful on the inside as outside…what?!  Jacque and Angel are adorable together. And of course Angel’s son Trendon adds uber cuteness to the mix .There was so much beauty and emotion to this backyard wedding. Nobody would have ever guessed it. I reunited with one guest that was a fan of mine when I worked for the Northwest Florida Daily News and it was fun to relive my career as a photojournalist for a while.  Jacque and Angel’s reception was at WaterVue right on Brooks Street in Fort Walton Beach. With such a beautiful backyard DIY wedding, Angel and Jacque’s wedding was amazing. Our style of wedding photography loves emotional moments, and we got so many of those from their wedding! Our wedding tagline is Pure Love Documented and that is what we did there. Our second shooter CarrieAlvesPhotography caught emotions and love I expect from my assistant photographers as he always does when we photograph together.

Their beautiful and successful wedding just shows that with planning and patience a backyard wedding doesn’t necessarily warrent the negative stigma it seems to get. I personally adored the whimsical chandelier hanging from between the two water oak trees with white lights wrapped around them. Simple folding chairs and some tulle on the fence finished up the simple but elegant decore and showed off the Choctawatchee Bay in the background.

Angel and Jacque’s other vendors and details were awesome as well.

Jacque and Angel, you look stunning!

I’ve never seen more beautiful wedding pictures, pictures that capture the subject’s personality and joy.

Highly recommend Mari Darr-Welch for any photography need one may have.

Fort Walton Beach Wedding Photography

destination wedding

Our job doing Stephanie and Duc’s Fort Walton Beach wedding photography was so much fun! The wedding took place on the beach on Okaloosa Island at the Waterscape resort. It was a beautiful weekend on the Emerald Coast with a cold front, (what we called winter) having just passed through. The couple met in a bowling alley and decided on a destination wedding on the Gulf of Mexico and the white sandy beaches of Florida.

It was a beautiful ceremony with the bride’s aunt singing, her great-uncles performing the ceremony and a beautiful song tribute by Duc’s brother at the reception. Both at the ceremony and reception, beautiful emotional moments insured that even among the wedding vendors there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! But between the tears of joy there was laughter and the sounds of many bells ringing encouraging the newlyweds to share a kiss. The crowd went wild as Duc rang the bell at his place on the table just to get a kiss from the beautiful Stephanie.

The wedding was also a fun time for me as well. I got to see one of my high school classmates Ann Ruff that I hadn’t seen since graduation…a few years ago. It was neat to meet her sweet daughter and funny husband and catch up on the gossip from our home town nearly 1,000 miles away.

Now let’s see our vendors!

We want to wish Stephanie and Duc all the best for a lifetime of happiness and love. It is rare to witness the respect, adoration, pure friendship and love all in one couple, but they have it hand’s down. Here’s to your yet unthought of children and grandchildren loving your wedding pictures as you celebrate your 50th together!! Congratulations you two!

As a side note, we do travel for weddings and still have some fall openings available. Please check out my website at www.DestinWeddingPhotographer.com

Destination Elopement First Look

wedding photography

An intimate destination elopement in Destin, Fl was what Carolyn and Jd decided upon for their recent wedding. They have waited a long time to exchange vows and the zing of excitement right before they did their first look sizzled through the beachside condo. I don’t know who was more excited the bride or the groom! Whether destination elopement or traditional wedding, many couples are opting to do a first look before strolling down the wedding aisle.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, the first look is the opportunity for the couple to have an intimate moment and see each other before the wedding. Many couples take that time to exchange gifts or cards with one another. It is a wonderful private moment before they will be surrounded by family and friends for hours. Many people use the time to calm one another as well. In the many times I’ve seen the first look, I have never had it ruin the groom’s excitement as the bride walks down the aisle. Carolyn and Jd decided to do theirs overlooking the Gulf of Mexico on their condo balcony. There were tears, laughter, kisses and hugs. It was truly romantic! If you are interested read more about wedding first looks at the Wedding Central.

Carolyn and Jd also thought choosing their wedding officiant was an important decision. I totally concur with this thought. They chose Marie Di Giovine, who takes the time to actually interview her couples and learn things about them that she uses in her very personal ceremonies. I really enjoy working with Marie because she is very professional, but has a great sense of humor and enjoys her time with her clients. As a matter of fact, later this  year when my own daughter gets married, Marie will be the officiant.

Although the wind was blustery and cold, Jd and Carolyn took the time to enjoy their ceremony and wedding photography. I hope you do too. Congratulations you two!
